There are lots of companies that spend considerable time and
resources developing mission and vision statements, which are generally
not remembered by staff and customers. A better option may be to craft
stories that emphasize the values that the company represents. Everyone
likes a good story, especially when they are true. Good stories make
people feel good because they are about the experiences of real people.
Stories help to make team members and customers focus on priorities.
At your next staff meeting, challenge your team and team members to
relate a story that reflects your showroom's mission and purpose. When
you document these stories, your team and customers will listen more
closely and know what you stand for.
